George Hale and Edward Smith, who noticed the growing market for insurance needs in the community, founded Hale-Smith, Inc. in 1967. After the insurance business prospered, George Hale's Wife, Justine Hale realized an opportunity in real estate for this growing community. By expanding Hale-Smith Inc. with a full service real estate agency, Hale-Smith Inc. continued to flourish.

In 1973, Louis C. Catalanotti joined Hale-Smith Inc. as a real estate and insurance agent, becoming the first member of the company to be competent in both areas. In 1983, after becoming a broker, Louis became president of Hale Smith, and has since been promoted to CEO, a designation that he still holds to this day. Mr. Catalanotti has over 30 years of experience in both these fields. During these 30 years, Mr. Catalanotti has earned numerous designations including: CREA, CPIA, and CEI. He also is associated with the following: National Association of Realtors, Pennsylvania Association of Realtors, Bucks County Board of Realtors (past director), Falls Township Planning Commission, Falls Township Historic Review Board, Realtors Legislative Alliance (past director), Bucks County Council for Individuals with Disabilities (treasurer), and Insurance Agents & Brokers Association. Mr. Catalanotti is also a former president of Lower Bucks Realtors MLS. These designations show how qualified and proficient Mr. Catalanotti has been as head of Hale-Smith Inc.

In 1994 Louis B. Catalanotti joined the Hale-Smith team, bringing a Finance degree from Penn State, and combining his own financial qualifications to this ever-growing business. As an insurance and real estate agent Mr. Catalanotti Jr. has become one of Bucks County's top producers in both of his fields. In 1999 Mr. Catalanotti Jr. was promoted to Vice President insuring that Hale-Smith Inc.'s quality and commitment would continue on for many years. He has since been promoted to President.
